TBTRA
The TBTRA Program
_________________________________________________________________________
Our riding season runs from June to September. Lessons are scheduled twice a week for four weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A program is set up based on the needs and abilities of each rider. Lessons may progress from simple balance and strengthening exercises to more advanced levels of controlling the horse and negotiating obstacles.
For more information on our programs, or if you know someone who wishes to ride, please call the Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association in Thunder Bay at (807)472-5650.
Volunteers
_________________________________________________________________________
Volunteers are the backbone of our association. They may be directors on the board, instructors, leaders, sidewalkers or may look after the horses or help with our fund raising drives. No matter what position or responsibility these people have accepted, each and every one of them has stepped forward to give a little extra to improve the life for physically and mentally challenged children and adults in Thunder Bay.
Volunteers are an essential part of the TBTRA team. Any person can be a volunteer if they are 14 years of age or older (those under 16 years require their parents to sign a release form). No previous experience with horses is necessary, as training for the volunteers is provided on an ongoing basis. If you or someone you know wishes to volunteer or would like to learn more about volunteering with our organization, please give us a call or send us an email
